          Four-day attendance at the PGA Championship at Medinah
     Country Club totaled 159,000.  The event had 33,000 attend
     Thursday's first round, "about" 38,000 on Friday, 43,000 on
     Saturday, and a "virtual sellout" of 45,000 on Sunday (DAILY
     SOUTHTOWN, 8/16)....In Cincinnati, Janet Graham reported
     that "nearly 6,000 more fans" than last year attended the
     ATP Championship in Cincinnati. Attendance for the ATP
     Tour's main draw saw an increase of 5,332, from 134,565 to
     139,987 (CINCINNATI POST, 8/16).  Last week's WTA Tour Acura
     Classic in CA set an attendance record with 53,713 for the
     week (Long Beach PRESS-TELEGRAM, 8/16).
