LEAGUE NOTES

In Dallas, Jean-Jacques Taylor reports that the
Cowboys, Saints and Bengals are the only three NFL teams
that refuse to allow its coaches to join the NFL Coaches
Association (NFLCA). Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones: "I want the
complete responsibility to address any of the matters with
my coaches, financial or otherwise, that would normally be
things that an organization like that would address." NFLCA
Exec Dir Larry Kennan: "That's one of the things we'd really
like to address because it looks bad for the owners, and it
doesn't make any sense" (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 7/30)....In
Las Vegas, Kevin Iole notes that the Stardust Casino is
"accepting wagers" on WNBA games after "receiving numerous
requests from customers and is doing a brisk business."
Iole: "The Stardust is getting a number of plays from
professional bettors, who believe they have found an area to
make money" (LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL, 7/30).
