WEB START-UPS: SPORTS LAW AND ATHLETE LIFESTYLE SITES DEBUT

"Mark's Sportslaw News," a new Web site devoted to
sports law, has launched at http://www.sportslawnews.com.
The site was created by Mark Conrad, a professor at Fordham
Univ.'s Graduate and Undergraduate Schools of Business.
Among the topics covered on the site are contract law, labor
negotiations, endorsements and merchandising and pro league
governance. The site will be updated weekly (MSN).
WORLDWIDE SPORTS ON THE WEB: NJ-based Worldwide
Entertainment & Sports Corp. has formed Sportcut.com, an
Internet subsidiary which will provide access to the
activities and lifestyles of pro athletes and sports agents.
The site, located at http://www.sportcut.com, is expected to
launch in October '99. Bsquared Communication's R. Michael
Bermea has been named CEO of Sportcut.com (WE&SC).
GOLF SITES OF CHOICE: In rating golf Web sites, YAHOO!
INTERNET LIFE writes that Golfonline.com "rules." The site,
which receives the top rating of four stars, features "well-
designed frames" which provide "zippy navigation through
'Golf Magazine's' vast resources, bolstered by the recent
acquisitions of 'Senior Golfer' magazine and the iGolf
site." Pgatour.com receives three and a half stars and
"best of all is the live reportage, including real-time
scoring updates." NBC Sports' and Total Sports' joint
venture, golf.com, receives only two and a half stars. It
"should definitely rock. Unfortunately, little separates
its content from that of a hundred other sites with lesser
resources" (YAHOO! INTERNET LIFE, 8/99 issue).
