EXECUTIVE TRANSACTIONS

          CART Exec VP/Marketing CARL COHEN is leaving to pursue
     opportunities outside the company.  He has been with CART
     since '97.  CART President & CEO ANDREW CRAIG will supervise
     the marketing division in the interim (CART)....JOE FAVORITO
     is leaving his position as VP/Communications at the WTA Tour
     to become Dir of Media Relations & Publicity at the USTA. 
     Favorito will be joined by ANDREA BERKEN, who was named Dir
     of Communications for the USTA (THE DAILY)....BRANDWEEK's
     Terry Lefton reports that NFLP Senior Dir JOHN TRIMBLE "is
     leaving" to join N.Y.-based Phase2 Media, a Internet rep
     firm with designs on the sports marketplace.  Meanwhile,
     Millsport's GREG SIMON "has left" to join NBC/Quokka
     Ventures (BRANDWEEK, 7/26 issue)....Texaco named MICHAEL
     HARGRAVE as Dir of Sponsorships.  Hargrave was most recently
     Sports Marketing Group Senior Manager at Anheuser-Busch
     (Texaco)....The NHL named MIKE MURPHY VP/Hockey Operations. 
     Murphy was most recently a Senators assistant coach
     (NHL)....The Capitals named Panthers VP/Marketing DECLAN
     BOLGER as Senior VP/Business Operations (WASHINGTON POST,
     7/25)....The USOC named DARRYL SEIBEL as Associates Dir. of
     Media & Public Affairs.  Seibel was most recently Dir of
     Media & PR at USA Hockey (USOC).
