TAKING A KONOZA DIVE: NEW REDSKINS DIR OF PR LEAVES POST

          The Redskins' new Dir of PR John Konoza, who team Owner
     Daniel Snyder named to the position Monday after "firing" 25
     front-office employees, "resigned early yesterday morning
     after what he described as several sleepless nights over the
     pressures of the job," according to Liz Clarke of the
     WASHINGTON POST.  Snyder spokesperson Karl Swanson will take
     over the duties on an interim basis while a successor is
     selected "from the candidates who were interviewed initially
     rather than launch a new search."  Swanson: "We don't really
     see it as a problem.  It's too bad, but you shrug your
     shoulders" (WASHINGTON POST, 7/22).
