FORMER TCI HEAD LEO HINDERY AMONG ADDITIONS TO DOLICH GROUP

          The Andy Dolich-led investment group working to acquire
     the A's has added AT&T Broadband & Internet Services
     President & CEO Leo Hindery and HL Capital President & CEO
     Douglas Luke to its group, according to Ron Bergman of the
     SAN JOSE MERCURY NEWS.  The two additions bring the investor
     group total to 16 (SAN JOSE MERCURY NEWS, 7/21).  The group
     consists of 15 individuals and one corporation and "has a
     net worth well in excess" of $1B.  Hindery is the former
     President of TCI and was a business partner of Luke. 
     Dolich: "Leo has been in the Bay Area a long time, and he is
     also one of the most knowledgeable people in the U.S. in
     terms of broadcasting sports and convergence technology and
     how it is all going to work in the future."  The group is
     "looking toward" the September 16 MLB owners meeting, when a
     sale vote is expected (Laura Counts, OAKLAND TRIBUNE, 7/21).
