DOVER FEELING DOWNS? GAYLORD ENTERTAINMENT NIXES TRACK DEAL

          Gaylord Entertainment "has discontinued its
partnership" with Dover Downs Entertainment for a $125M
superspeedway in DE, according to Larry Woody of the
Nashville TENNESSEAN. But Dover Downs President Denis
McGlynn said that the split "was amicable and will not
adversely affect the project." McGlynn: "It changes nothing
at all." The track "has been plagued by delays" that have
pushed the originally scheduled opening in 2000 back to the
2001 season. Ground is scheduled to be broken in 6-8 weeks.
Gaylord was initially "identified" as a "minority partner"
when plans for the track were announced two years ago.
McGlynn noted Dover Downs has since "strengthened its full-
equity position" and that it "is capable of handling the
project by itself." The percentage of Gaylord's partnership
"was never finalized" (Nashville TENNESSEAN, 7/20).
