PACERS' WNBA PROMO HAS TAG: "BUY THE TICKETS, KEEP THE TEAM"

The Pacers "will unleash" their first ad campaign
around their new WNBA team this week, according to Sean
Horgan of the INDIANAPOLIS STAR-NEWS. The campaign was
created by IN-based Young & Laramore and "will be the
centerpiece" of the Pacers' efforts to secure the required
5,500 season ticket commitments by October 15. The campaign
uses the tag, "Buy the tickets. Keep the team," and will
consist of four TV spots, radio ads, print ads and bus-panel
advertising. Young & Laramore's Tom Dinare: "Since we don't
have a coach, a name or players, essentially what we're
doing is making sure people know we have to sell 5,500
season tickets to keep the team." Though neither the team
nor Young & Laramore would put a price on the campaign,
local ad execs estimated it at $300,000 (STAR-NEWS, 7/17).
