AUTONATION INKS NFL, SUPER BOWL XXXIV SPONSORSHIP DEAL

          FL-based automotive retailer AutoNation has become an
     official, first-time sponsor of the NFL and Super Bowl XXXIV
     in Atlanta on January 30, 2000.  The sponsorship includes a
     Super Bowl XXXIV-themed promo at more than 390 AutoNation
     franchised dealerships and 42 AutoNation USA used vehicle
     megastores, as well as sponsorship of the "NFL Experience"
     during the Super Bowl.  AutoNation will also air two 30-
     second pre-game TV spots and two 30-second in-game spots
     during ABC's Super Bowl XXXIV coverage (AutoNation).  Doug
     Gladstone, VP/Sports Marketing for Hill, Holliday, Connors,
     Cosmopulos, AutoNation's ad agency, said as a result of the
     sponsorship, AutoNation becomes "the de facto brand in their
     category."  The deal, terms of which were not disclosed,
     does not include NFL team rights (SUN-SENTINEL, 7/15).
