PROPOSED MULTI-PURPOSE ARENA IN HOUSTON ESTIMATED AT $175M

          Harris County Houston Sports Authority Construction
     Committee Chair Billy Burge "estimated" that a 20,000-seat
     arena for basketball and hockey "would cost" $175M to design
     and build, according to John Williams of the HOUSTON
     CHRONICLE.  Burge said that the $175M price "would not
     include" land, financing and infrastructure support.  The
     city "is expected to pick up the bill for those if a deal is
     struck."  Williams adds that "where the arena will go is
     uncertain," though a mid-July deadline was targeted for
     completing an arena proposal (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 6/24).
