EXECUTIVE TRANSACTIONS

          DALE PETROSKEY was named Nat'l Baseball Hall of Fame
     President, effective July 19.  Petroskey was a White House
     aide during the Reagan Administration (Albany TIMES UNION,
     6/16)....The Columbus Blue Jackets named MICHAEL HUMES as
     VP/Business Development & Broadcasting.  Humes was Senior
     VP/Sales & Marketing for the AHL (Blue Jackets)....JAMES
     TENER was named Exec VP & CEO of The Sports Authority.  Tener
     comes from OfficeMax, where he was Exec VP/Store Operations
     (The Sports Authority)....LONNY POWELL was named President &
     CEO of Santa Anita Park.  Powell was also named VP of
     Ventures, a "newly formed subsidiary" of Magna Int'l Inc.,
     which purchased Santa Anita in December '98 (ARIZONA
     REPUBLIC, 6/15)....N.Y.-based WNBC-TV has named LEWIS LEONE
     as VP/Sales.  Leone was most recently NBC VP/Sports & Olympic
     Sales (DAILY VARIETY, 6/16). ...Bruins GM HARRY SINDEN plans
     to relinquish his position to Assistant GM MIKE O'CONNELL
     following the NHL Draft, pending the approval of team Owner
     JEREMY JACOBS (BOSTON HERALD, 6/16)....The ECHL named
     Greenville Grrrowl Chair CARL SCHEER as the '98-99 Exec of
     the Year.  The league also named ECHL Chiefs President JIM
     EDWARDS as its new Chair (ECHL)....The ECHL Checkers named
     MIKE STECKLER as Dir of Corporate Sales & Marketing and
     promoted MICHAEL BONASIA to Dir of Promotions, while
     continuing to serve as Dir of Merchandising (CHARLOTTE
     OBSERVER, 6/16)....JENNIFER MURRAY will serve as Exec Dir of
     RYKA's newly formed Another Chance Foundation, which will
     support programs that encourage women to attain greater self-
     sufficiency and stress health and fitness.  Murray joins the
     Foundation from Converse Inc, where she worked as
     VP/Marketing Communications.  RYKA will donate 1% of all
     retail sales sold at Lady Foot Locker.  Founder SHERI POE
     will serve as a consultant for the Foundation (RYKA).
