PAC BELL SPORTS COMMITMENT IN CA INCREASES IN $2.5M DEAL

Pacific Bell signed a ten-year deal to become the
exclusive telecom sponsor of Sacramento's River City
Baseball's Triple A team and will provide infrastructure and
services for RCB at Raley's Field. That announcement was
made in conjunction with the CA League's Stockton Ports
granting overlapping territorial rights to RCB, allowing the
Triple A Vancouver Canadiens to relocate to Raley's Field for
the 2000 PCL season (RCB). In Sacramento, Tony Bizjak
reports that Pac Bell will pay $2.5M for the "right to have
its name" on the scoreboard or outfield wall, as well as to
run a "business center" at the ballpark. Raley's
Supermarkets has inked a 20-year naming rights deal
"believed" to be valued at $15M (SACRAMENTO BEE, 6/15).
