A NEW LOGO COMES KNOCKING, KNOCKING ON THE CHAMBER DOOR

After getting approval from NFLP, the Ravens will be
"sporting a new look this fall," as they have "completed
revisions of their primary logo," according to Gary
Lambrecht of the Baltimore SUN. The team's helmets, apparel
and publications "will be graced" by a profiled head of an
attacking raven. The letter "B" and some red "touch-up" to
the bird's eye are also included. Ravens President David
Modell: "We've added some red to the eyes to give it a more
menacing look. Plus, it was important for us to have the
letter `B' blended into the logo, because we are a Baltimore
team and proud of that." The team's search for a new logo
"was set in motion" seven months ago when a federal jury
ruled that its primary logo had been copied from amateur
Baltimore artist Frederick Bouchat (Baltimore SUN, 6/12).
