The NFL has "refused to let Redskins trademarks be
used" for the Warner Bros. film, "THE REPLACEMENTS," which
is based on the '87 Redskins "strike team." NFL VP/
Communications GREG AIELLO said that the "league decided the
movie 'wasn't in its best interests.'" Screenwriter VINCE
MCKEWIN, on the movie, which will partly be filmed in RFK
Stadium and PSINet Stadium: "It's a broad comedy based on
the strike, and I'm taking a shot at professional players
who walk off for a bigger salary cap" (WASHINGTON TIMES,
6/10).....Actor TIMOTHY HUTTON discussed attending Knicks
games during his appearance on "The Late Show" with DAVID
LETTERMAN. Hutton, on taking his six-year-old son to his
first game: "He had a great experience with the Knicks City
Dancers. They came out and they did their routine and they
left and no one clapped. And a couple of minutes went by
and he asked me when the 'dancing teenagers' were coming

descent, was present at a WHITE HOUSE dinner for Hungarian
President ARPAD GONCZ yesterday. Asked if he spoke with
Goncz, Nagy said, "He only speaks a little English and I
don't speak any Hungarian, so there wasn't much to talk
