          Seahawks/Blazers Owner PAUL ALLEN completed a $3.6B
     purchase of Falcon Communications, a closely held cable TV
     company.  The deal will make Allen's Charter Communications
     the fourth-largest cable TV operator in the U.S. with 5.5
     million subscribers (Mult., 5/27)....A tribute for BILL
     RUSSELL was held at the FleetCenter last night and in
     Boston, Peter May writes that the "stands were half-full,"
     while organizers expected a crowd of "about" 10,000 (BOSTON
     GLOBE, 5/27)....T'Wolves Owner GLEN TAYLOR is pledging $1.8M
     toward an expansion project at the Mankato YMCA in MN (STAR
     TRIBUNE, 5/27)....Titans first-round draft pick JEVON
     KEARSE, on dropping agent TANK BLACK, who is under
     investigation for possible violations involving several
     Univ. of FL football players: "It kind of got on my nerves. 
     I kind of knew the best thing to do was to get out of that
     and find an agent who was going to keep downtown off my
     back" (ST. PETERSBURG TIMES, 5/27)....Maple Leafs G CURTIS
     JOSEPH, after discussing Sabres G DOMINIK HASEK's groin
     injury: "No, I'm not a doctor.  But I did sleep in a Holiday
