FACILITY NOTES

The Pirates will launch a program today called "Bucco
Bricks," in which they will sell more than 1,400 engraved
stones to be placed in the pavement at plazas in two or more
locations outside PNC Park. Pirates VP Steve Greenberg said
that the sale of the personalized bricks could raise between
$500,000 and $1M, "all of which will go to programs operated
by the Roberto Clemente Foundation" (PITTSBURGH POST-
GAZETTE, 5/27)....In Charlotte, Bonnell & Markoe write that
an "examination of arena deals across the continent
indicates" that the Hornets are "not out of bounds when they
suggest they should pay about" 50% of the cost for a new
arena. The team's stance is "not far from the deals struck"
recently in other NBA cities (CHARLOTTE OBSERVER, 5/27).
...TX Motorplex execs are "trying to rev up interest in
relocating their drag racing strip" from Ennis to Grand
Prairie, as they sent about 50,000 Grand Prairie residents
two free tickets to visit the track this weekend. TX
Motorplex Owner Billy Meyer has "suggested that a sales tax
increase, with voters' approval, could fund" the $40M Grand
Prairie project (FT. WORTH STAR-TELEGRAM, 5/25).
