          TV MONITOR: Last night's 11:00pm edition of "Fox Sports
     News Primetime" (Fox Sports South), ESPN's "SportsCenter"
     and CNN/SI's "Sports Tonight" led with the Blazers-Jazz.
     CNN/SI followed with Raptors G Vince Carter being named
     Rookie of the Year.  FSN followed with the Red Sox-Yankees
     and ESPN followed with Sabres-Maple Leafs (THE DAILY).
          NAMES: Predators President & COO JACK DILLER "was in
     good spirits" after undergoing quadruple bypass heart
     surgery in a Nashville hospital.  Diller: "It was absolutely
     successful."  Diller hopes to return to work in a few weeks
     (Nashville TENNESSEAN, 5/26).....Univ. of FL police searched
     the office of agent TANK BLACK last week, "seeking clues" as
     to whether he "gave money and cars" to four former Univ. of
     FL football players (SUN-SENTINEL, 5/26).....TED TURNER, on
     running for President: "I thought about it a number of
     times.  But my wife, who was married to a politician before
     [Tom Hayden], said she would leave me. ... It takes a lot of
     energy and I don't have it" (USA TODAY, 5/26)....Kings
     VP/Basketball Operations GEOFF PETRIE was named The Sporting
     News' NBA Exec of the Year (Mult., 5/26).....GENE and JOE
     SILVERBERG, who operate MICHAEL JORDAN'S RESTAURANT in
     Chicago, are SAMMY SOSA's partners in his Chicago restaurant
     venture.  Sosa, on the menu: "There will be Spanish and
     American food.  It will be international with a little of
     everything.  I like chicken and rice" (SUN-TIMES, 5/25).
     ...SMI CEO BRUTON SMITH is launching an on-line site for
     NASCAR collectibles, SoldUSA.com (BUSINESS JOURNAL, 5/21).
