NBA FANS IN CHINA MAY NOT STILL LOVE THIS GAME ANYMORE

Government censors have banned TV broadcasts of the NBA
playoffs in China, "apparently anxious to limit American
images on Chinese airwaves" following the NATO's bombing of
the Chinese Embassy in Belgrade, according to Matt Forney of
the WALL STREET JOURNAL. The decision was made the same day
"the long-awaited" playoffs tipped off on May 8. Chinese fan
Lang Peng: "War and sports should be separate." China's
nat'l station CCTV replaced the NBA playoffs with Chinese
college games. CCTV exec Ren Jiangzhou: "Our market share
has dropped considerably" (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 5/21).
