PIRATES EXTEND TV DEAL WITH FOX SPORTS NET PITTSBURGH

The Pirates and Fox Sports Net Pittsburgh (FSNP) have
reached an agreement which extends FSNP's broadcast contract
with the team for seven years. Under the deal, FSNP has
regional TV rights to 120 games each year of the contract
(FSNP). In Pittsburgh, Chuck Finder writes that the number
of games available on TV is "believed to be the highest in
team history." Terms of the deal "weren't divulged," but it
"likely contains an escalating, year-to-year increase" from
the $4.5M FSNP will pay next season (POST-GAZETTE, 5/14).
