DOES DOUBLEDAY WANT JETS TO GO ALONG WITH HIS METS IN N.Y.?

          Mets co-Owner Nelson Doubleday yesterday "reiterated
     his interest in purchasing the Jets or a share of them,"
     according to Marty Noble of NEWSDAY.  Doubleday may want to
     bring the Jets back to N.Y. or move them to a new site on
     Long Island.  Doubleday: "I haven't spoken with anyone about
     it. ... But I'd like to talk about it some time.  I think
     they belong back in New York" (NEWSDAY, 5/14).
