ONE-YEAR DEADLINE SET TO FINALIZE FINANCING FOR RACE TRACK
Published May 13, 1999
WV-based Brant Motorsports Inc. was given one year to
"put together financing" for a proposed full-sized, enclosed
$300M indoor auto racing track near Pittsburgh Int'l
Airport, according to Mark Belko of the PITTSBURGH POST-
GAZETTE. Under a "proposed memorandum of understanding" to
be considered at a commissioner's meeting today, Brant will
be asked to assemble a development team, perform
engineering, marketing, environmental and traffic studies
and do title searches and core drillings. Allegheny County
will then give Brant "the exclusive right" for the next 12
months to develop the 145 acres of county-owned land where
the track would be placed. Brant "will have to meet certain
milestones" every 90 days or the county will have the right
"to revoke the agreement" (PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE, 5/13).
