NO TAX BREAK FOR YOU! SOME CABINET MEMBERS NOT KEEN ON AID

Ontario cabinet members Norm Sterling and Bob Runciman
"quashed any lingering hopes of special tax breaks" for the
Senators, according to Mohammed Adam of the OTTAWA CITIZEN.
Sterling told the Citizen Editorial Board the Conservative
government "has no stomach for tax breaks," and he "will not
even support efforts to have the province pick up the tab"
for the $38M Corel Centre interchange, which Senators Chair
Rod Bryden said is a burden on the club. Sterling: "There's
not a lot of truck on the part of my premier and my finance
minister to give professional sports teams a huge lever on
     financial support" (OTTAWA CITIZEN, 5/12).
