ELWAY SAYS OWNERSHIP OPPORTUNITY WOULD HAVE TO BE RIGHT FIT

          John Elway responded to an L.A. Times report that he is
     scheduled to meet with L.A. developer Eli Broad on Thursday
     to discuss possible involvement in Broad's L.A. NFL
     expansion bid, according to Patrick Saunders of the DENVER
     POST.  An NFL source said Elway has a "number of meetings
     scheduled," but Elway told Denver's KOA-AM radio, "I haven't
     talked to anybody about that yet.  I've seen (the story).
     ... But I have not talked to anybody out there.  Actually, I
     was waiting for tomorrow's paper to find out what time the
     meetings were."  On an NFL ownership opportunity: "If an
     opportunity like that would arise, I've definitely got to
     listen to it.  But because of what we've got here in Denver,
     and how entrenched we are here in Denver, it would take an
     awful lot to get us out of here" (DENVER POST, 5/11).
