PHILADELPHIA FREEDOM? JAWS-LED GROUP EYES ARENA TEAM

          ESPN NFL analyst Ron Jaworski, former AFL Commissioner
     Jim Drucker and Reading Phillies Owner Craig Stein are "said
     to be in a group close to finalizing a deal" to bring an AFL
     team to Philadelphia for the 2000 season, according to
     Edward Moran of the PHILADELPHIA DAILY NEWS.  Stein: "If we
     are going to do it anywhere, it will be in Philadelphia." 
     There are no other cities being "considered" by the group,
     which is "negotiating a deal" for the team to play in the
     First Union Center, and the two sides are "working out
     details" about arena availability (PHILA. DAILY NEWS, 4/29).
