MARKETPLACE ROUND-UP

          BRANDWEEK's Terry Lefton reports that A-B has "reupped"
     its sponsorship deal with Strike Ten for two years.  Strike
     Ten CEO & President Steve Ryan said that he's "also
     targeting" the fast food and automotive categories for
     sponsorships and "exploring the possibility of a bowling-
     themed" FSI (BRANDWEEK, 4/27)....Ericsson Open Founder &
     Owner Butch Buchholz "confirmed" yesterday that he is
     "discussing the possible sale" of the event to IMG. 
     Buchholz: "We are in discussion with IMG about the
     tournament, and that's it.  There's nothing more to say. 
     That's where it is right now" (MIAMI HERALD, 4/27)....The
     SBC Futures Golf Tour, the developmental tour of the LPGA,
     signed CT-based On Course Strategies as its marketing firm,
     marking the first time since the Tour's inception in '81
     that it will outsource its marketing.  On Course will direct
     all marketing and sponsorship sales efforts and will assist
     in creating licensing and promotional opportunities (SBC).
