FACILITY NOTES

The U.S. Supreme Court "rejected" a challenge to $300M
in public funding for a new Seahawks stadium, "clearing the
way for an initial bond sale." Seattle resident Jordan
Brower was challenging the '97 voter-approved financing.
The demolition of the Kingdome is to begin next March
(SEATTLE TIMES, 4/26)....Vikings Owner Red McCombs said that
"he would be willing to help pay for a new stadium" and has
"never thought of anything but some combination of a public-
private venture." McCombs added, "It has to be a dome (as
opposed to an open-air stadium); it's still in Minnesota"
(Charley Walters, ST. PAUL PIONEER PRESS, 4/27). Twins
Owner Carl Pohlad, on a proposal by the Vikings calling for
a new football stadium, with the Twins remaining in a
remodeled Metrodome: "We're willing to look at anything, but
I don't like the idea of the Vikings telling us how to solve
our stadium plans" (Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE, 4/25)....The
Dolphins are adding three luxury suites to Pro Player
Stadium, which will create "over" $1.5M in annual revenue.
To make room for the suites, the first level of the pressbox
will be eliminated (Ft. Lauderdale SUN-SENTINEL, 4/25).
