NAMES IN THE NEWS

          Former IOC President LORD KILLANIN died yesterday in
     Ireland at 84.  Killanin was president from '72 to '80, a
     "tumultuous period when the Olympic movement was buffeted by
     political boycotts" (N.Y. TIMES, 4/26)....In Philadelphia,
     Mike Bruton reported that GQ's September issue will feature
     first-round NFL picks TIM COUCH, DAUNTE CULPEPPER, DONOVAN
     MCNABB, AKILI SMITH and CADE MCNOWN.  A GQ spokesperson was
     "hush-hush" about who will be on the cover.  The September
     '85 issue of GQ -- featuring QBs WARREN MOON, STEVE YOUNG,
     JIM KELLY, KEN O'BRIEN, TONY EASON and MARC WILSON, with DAN
     MARINO on the cover, was the biggest newsstand seller in the
     title's history with nearly 500,000 in street sales
     (PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER, 4/25)....Reds CEO MARGE SCHOTT was
     in stable condition after being admitted to Jewish Hospital
     Kenwood Friday for "respiratory treatment stemming from
     sever seasonal pollen allergies" (CINCINNATI POST,
     4/24)....JOHN SALLEY spoke at a business/sports symposium
     sponsored by the Detroit-area NAACP and said that "blacks
     must include aspirations of team ownership" (DETROIT NEWS,
     4/25)....U.S. Rep. JOHN LEWIS (D-GA) spoke to the Hawks
     "about his struggle as a leader of the civil rights
     movement" during the team's trip to play the Wizards on
     Friday, and said after, "I have never ever spoken to a more
     attentive group of young men" (ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 4/25).
