NTRA SIGNS FOOTBALL EXEC JOE BAILEY AS DEPUTY COMMISSIONER

          Joseph Bailey III was named NTRA Deputy Commissioner &
     COO, effective May 1.  Bailey has spent the last four years
     as Managing Dir and Area Manager for the executive search
     firm Russell Reynolds Associates.  Bailey was the World
     League/NFL Senior VP & COO from '89-92 and also served as
     the Cowboys' Senior VP/Administration from '76-89 (NTRA).  
          NEW AD CAMPAIGN: The NTRA will launch a series of PSAs
     on national TV next week leading up to the May 1 Kentucky
     Derby.  In addition to network and cable broadcasts, the
     PSAs will be distributed via satellite to racetracks to air
     on their closed-circuit TV systems.  Two of the PSAs focus
     on the experience of owning thoroughbreds, as seen through
     the eyes of owners Rick Pitino and Burt Bacharach (NTRA).
