ALL EYES ON WAYNE: FINAL GAME PRODUCES RECORD TV NUMBERS

Wayne Gretzky's final game on Sunday drew 2.162 million
viewers, peaking at 2.811 million from 6:00-6:30pm ET,
making it "the highest regular-season audience" in the
history of CBC'S "Hockey Night In Canada," according to
William Houston of the Toronto GLOBE & MAIL. The previous
high was 1.937 million for the Maple Leafs' final game at
Maple Leaf Gardens in February (Toronto GLOBE & MAIL, 4/22).
HOT SELLER ON THE WEB: In the WALL STREET JOURNAL,
David Sweet wrote that Gretzky goods are CBS SportsLine's
"hottest commodity" and are "surpassing the demand for
Michael Jordan items." CBS SportsLine VP/e-commerce Daniel
Head: "Jordan was a big seller before he retired. Gretzky
was a very small seller until last week." Specific sales
numbers were not released (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 4/20).
