WORLD'S LARGEST INDOOR TRACK RACING INTO PITTSBURGH?

WV-based Brant Motorsports has plans to build a racing
complex near Pittsburgh Int'l Airport which could hold up to
120,000 fans and be the world's first full-sized enclosed
speedway, according to Mark Belko of the PITTSBURGH POST-
GAZETTE. The track, which would be placed on county-owned
land in Findlay, would cost between $300-350M and "would
contain" 2.6 million square feet of space. Working with
Brant are OH-based engineering and design firm Austin
     Company and Toronto-based Robbie/Young & Wright Architects.
Brant's goal is to attract "world-class motor sports" to the
facility, but it has no affiliation with NASCAR or other
governing bodies. Brant hopes "to begin building" next year
with the track completed in 2002 (POST-GAZETTE, 4/20).
