MARKETPLACE ROUND-UP

          Shares of Callaway Golf closed Friday at $13.81 1/4, up
     6.7% and the "highest it's been in weeks."  A total of 1.3
     million shares traded hands, "more than double the recent
     daily average."   Hambrecht & Quist recently upgraded its
     recommendation of Callaway from "hold" to "buy" (SAN DIEGO
     UNION-TRIBUNE, 4/17)....GOLFWEEK's "Forecaddie" reports that
     Titleist has "the inside track on signing" Sergio Garcia to
     a ball and equipment deal, which could be completed
     "possibly as soon as this week."  Garcia's reps met with
     Titleist President & CEO Wally Uihlein at The Masters. 
     Garcia currently plays with a Titleist ball and hits a
     Titleist driver, but uses Mizuno irons (GOLFWEEK, 4/17).
