COME ON AND TAKE A FREE RIDE: JAYS BOOST CROWDS W/FREE TIX

The Blue Jays' attendance figures for six of their
games during their first homestand of the season at SkyDome
are "being augmented by free tickets given to season-ticket
subscribers," according to Larry Millson of the Toronto
GLOBE & MAIL. Each season-ticket account was offered 10
tickets "usually" in the $22 price range to one of six games
during this week's Devil Rays series and next week's Angels
series. The tickets were not offered for the Blue Jays'
Monday home opener against the Devil Rays or for this
weekend's series against the Orioles. Since the Jays have
     about 4,000 season-ticket accounts, roughly 40,000 tickets
will be distributed to subscribers during the six games.
Jays COO Bob Nicholson, called the tickets a "bonus" to
season-ticket holders: "There has been favourable reaction
to it. ... And we thought it was a good opportunity to
expose some other people to the game (GLOBE & MAIL, 4/16).
