BRING ON DA ILLINOIS, BRING ON DA...? ABL SUIT GOES FORWARD

          ABL co-Founder Gary Cavalli said that the office of IL
     AG Jim Ryan "has subpoenaed his league's records as part of
     its preliminary investigation" into whether to file an
     antitrust lawsuit against the NBA, according to Mark Brown
     of the CHICAGO SUN-TIMES.  A Ryan spokesperson "confirmed"
     that the office is reviewing the ABL matter but "would not
     discuss what steps have been taken."  Cavalli: "We have
     provided (to investigators) a memorandum of certain
     incidents that took place."  The ABL has "raised suspicions"
     that the NBA was responsible for the ABL's "inability" to
     land comprehensive TV deals and corporate sponsors.  AGs in
     IL, CT, CA, OH and WA are now involved in the ABL
     investigation and "records obtained under subpoena are being
     shared" among the states (CHICAGO SUN-TIMES, 4/15).
