NBC GOES TO THE WHIP AND ADDS FOUR NEW BROADCASTS THIS YEAR

          NBC Sports, along with Breeders' Cup Limited, will
     produce four new thoroughbred racing telecasts from Saratoga
     Racecourse and Belmont Park in NY leading up to this year's
     Breeders' Cup Championship in November.  With the addition
     of the "Breeders' Cup Preview," the new shows, titled "NBC
     Road to the Breeders' Cup," will feature 11 Grade 1 races
     with purses totaling $4.3M.  Breeders' Cup Ltd. will
     underwrite the telecasts of the one-hour shows, as well as
     the 90-minute Breeders' Cup Preview.  SMTI will produce in
     conjunction with NBC Sports.  The shows bring NBC's total
     thoroughbred coverage to 10 hours (NBC).
