HICKS TALKS TO TX TV STATION AND SAYS MAVS AREN'T IN PLANS

          Rangers/Stars Owner Tom Hicks said that a deal on his
     new RSN "will be finalized within the next few weeks,"
     according to an interview with TX TV host Scott Murray
     posted on MSNBC.com.  Hicks said that he envisions "two
     avenues" for TX sports fans.  Hicks: "They can go to the
     cable outlet and watch it on cable, get the Rangers, Stars,
     etc.  And, we'll also direct them to the over the air, [LIN
     TV's KXTX]"  Hicks, on comparisons to Rupert Murdoch: "I've
     got investments all over South America, some media, some
     sports.  So does Rupert.  So I see him all over, and we're
     looking at some stuff together.  He's been a true visionary
     of his industry."  Hicks, on buying an stake in the Mavs: "I
     don't want the Mavericks" (MSNBC.com, 3/30).
