NCAA TOURNAMENT NOTES: IS CRAIG KILBORN OVER-EXPOSED?

          CTV SportsNet in Canada drew "about 45,000 viewers
     nationwide" for its first prime-time telecast of the NCAA
     tournament last week, according to William Houston of the
     Toronto GLOBE & MAIL.  A majority of the viewers were in
     Ontario (GLOBE & MAIL, 3/17)....In DC, Lisa de Moraes places
     CBS's Craig Kilborn among her "Winners" for the week, as he
     "turned up all-over" CBS's coverage of the NCAA tournament,
     "putting him in front of far more eyeballs than ever caught
     him on ESPN or Comedy Central" (WASHINGTON POST, 3/17).
     ...USA TODAY's Ann Meyers Drysdale writes that ESPN
     "continues to provide more and more coverage in helping
     women's basketball grow" (USA TODAY, 3/17).
          WATCHING THE WEB GO 'ROUND AND ROUND: The NCAA's
     official men's and women's tournament Web site at www.
     Finalfour.net received a site record 74,014,062 hits and
     41,814,298 page views during last weekend's first and second
     rounds.  Day one of the tournament saw increases of 150% in
     hits and 424% in page views, compared to last year's first
     day of the event (Total Sports)....CNNSI.com's Jeanne
     Tronier told THE DAILY that registrant numbers for the
     network's "Hoops Bracket Challenge" were not available, but
     that the site has seen a 250% increase in traffic for this
     year's tournament coverage over last year (THE DAILY).
