SPECIAL DELIVERY? USPS GETS LUXURY SUITE USE FOR AD DEALS

          The sports marketing efforts of the U.S. Postal Service
     have "provided agency officials with a sporting perk: luxury
     suites," according to Bill McAllister of the WASHINGTON
     POST.  USPS execs "acknowledged" this week that in addition
     to the agency's "previously disclosed" luxury suite at Jack
     Kent Cooke Stadium, they have suites at several other pro
     venues.  USPS VP/Corporate Relations Frank Brennan 
     "defended" the use of suites as "part and parcel" of the
     agency's overall ad program and said that the suites were
     "obtained under advertising" deals for stadium billboards. 
     Brennan also said that stadium execs "would not give the
     agency a rebate" for any unused suites, so postal officials
     used the suites "to promote 'customer relationships' and to
     reward outstanding employees" (WASHINGTON POST, 2/26).
