IS THE SISTER DOING IT FOR HERSELF? DEBARTOLO WEIGHS OPTIONS

49ers co-Owner Eddie DeBartolo was "already plotting
his next moves" one day after being "banished" from the team
by his sister, Denise DeBartolo York, according to Matier &
Ross of the S.F. CHRONICLE. DeBartolo's newly-hired PR
spokesperson Rick Rice said, "Eddie is committed to settling
this so that he gets the football team if at all possible
... and he's not ruling out any options to get there." One
source said that DeBartolo's "first priority is to resume
negotiations to get control of the team," but he has "not
ruled out a lawsuit to protect" his 50% interest in both the
team and the family corp. Matier & Ross: "If all else
fails, DeBartolo could even try to force a sale of the team
to a third party." Some familiar with the family say "a
sale of some sort is bound to happen." One source close to
the NFL: "She will never build a new stadium and within 12
months the team will be sold" (S.F. CHRONICLE, 2/26).
