COLOR ME BAD: F-1 RULES FORCE BAR TO CHANGE PAINT JOBS

British American Racing (BAR) "has come up with a
colorful alternative to beat" F-1 rules, according to Colin
Young of the MELBOURNE AGE. Int'l Automobile Federation
President Max Mosley "blasted" BAR for "trying to introduce
completely separate branding" on two cars within the same
team, as driver Jacques Villeneuve was to carry Lucky Strike
colors on his car and Ricardo Zonta was to carry the 555
tobacco brand on his. Both will now have Lucky Strike on
one side of their cars and 555 on the other (AGE, 2/25).
CRAVEN SPORTS? OR-based Hollywood Entertainment, which
"has until now kept a low profile" in sports, sponsoring
only the Trail Blazers, may become more "aggressive" with
NASCAR. The company sponsored driver Ricky Craven at the
first two Winston Cup events of the year, the Daytona 500
and the Dura-Lube/Big Kmart 400 in NC. Company spokesperson
Dan Lavey: "We'll be looking for other opportunities in
     professional sports" (OREGONIAN, 2/24).
FAREWELL, ARIE: IRL driver Arie Luyendyk, who will end
his career after the Indy 500 in May, will have a special
logo signifying his two 500 victories on his car for the
race (LAS VEGAS REVIEW JOURNAL, 2/24).
