SAFECO AT HOME? MARINERS INAUGURAL GAME AT BALLPARK AT NIGHT

The Mariners have sold 55 of the 61 luxury suites in
Safeco Field, and only 40 of the 352 Diamond Club seats,
located behind home plate, remain, according to Blaine
Newnham of the SEATTLE TIMES. But the "toughest sell" has
been the PSLs, with a one time cost of $12,000 to $25,000
for a 25-year lease on the seat. Half of those remain
unsold (SEATTLE TIMES, 2/25). Construction on the ballpark
is "four weeks behind schedule." While officials "doubt the
planned July 15 opening will be delayed," making up the lost
time "could cause further cost overruns" at the $498M
     ballpark (SEATTLE TIMES, 2/24).
