FACILITY NOTES

          Twelve cities have submitted bids to host the 2003 and
     2004 NCAA Women's Final Fours.  The cities include Atlanta,
     Birmingham, Boston, Charlotte, Detroit, East Rutherford,
     Greensboro, Memphis, Nashville, New Orleans, Portland and
     Sacramento.  The NCAA Women's Basketball Committee will
     decide on the sites at its June 28-July 2 meetings after
     narrowing the list of potential sites in April-May (NCAA).
          OTHER NOTES: In Houston, John Williams reports that
     "despite continued bickering between architects and
     builders," construction on The Ballpark at Union Station is
     44% complete and will "apparently come in on time and under
     budget" (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 2/24)....Deloitte & Touche began
     a two-month study assessing the feasibility of a dome
     stadium in Birmingham.  The firm was awarded a $48,000
     contract by the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex
     Authority.  A report is due in May (BIRMINGHAM NEWS, 2/23).
