WHAT'S UP, DAK? BUCS FILE SUIT OVER STADIUM SCOREBOARD

The Bucs filed suit against Daktronics in Hillsborough
County Civil Court on Wednesday, "seeking a return of all
payments it has made" to the company for the $11M scoreboard
at Raymond James Stadium, according to Ernest Hooper of the
ST. PETERSBURG TIMES. The team is also asking for a
"recision of the contract and $15,000 in damages." The
scoreboard is the "largest in the NFL" and is "capable of
showing three video images at once." But the team and
reportedly some "advertisers were unhappy with how it
performed." Hooper: "It is unclear from the suit if the
Bucs will install a new scoreboard or merely want the
contract with Daktronics rescinded" (ST. PETERSBURG TIMES,
2/18). Daktronics officials were unavailable for comment on
the lawsuit (Eric Miller, TAMPA TRIBUNE, 2/18).
