RICHARD BURKE HOWLS OUT: "COYOTES AREN'T FOR SALE"

          Coyotes Owner Richard Burke "denied for the first time
     publicly" the rumors that his franchise is for sale,
     according to Bob McManaman of the ARIZONA REPUBLIC.  Burke:
     "It's total BS. I am not selling this team, period. ... I've
     heard enough of the rumors.  They're just not true.  We're
     committed to staying in Arizona."  But Burke also said that
     the team "may have to look for a new home out of state" if
     the proposed new arena in Scottsdale, AZ, fails (ARIZONA
     REPUBLIC, 2/12). In AZ, Dan Bickley wrote a "new plan will
     be unveiled within two weeks" detailing a reconfigured
     America West Arena, which "addresses the primary thorn in
     the side of ... Burke: the 4,500 seats handicapped by
     obstructed views" (ARIZONA REPUBLIC, 2/11).
