          USA HOCKEY INKS NEW DEALS: Inline hockey skate producer
     V-Formation has signed a three-year deal making it an
     official supplier of USA Hockey InLine, the USA Hockey
     InLine Regional and National Championships and the USA
     Hockey InLine Cup through 2001.  Meanwhile, Montreal-based
     ITECH Sports Products has expanded its partnership with USA
     Hockey and USA Hockey InLine to become the Exclusive
     Presenting Sponsor of the "Heads Up Hockey Program" through
     the 2000-2001 ice hockey season (USA Hockey).
          OTHER DEALS: The USA National Rugby Team has inked a
     long-term sponsorship deal with adidas America, which will
     provide the team with apparel, footwear and a sponsorship
     fee.  The deal, which covers the next two Rugby World Cups,
     also establishes a licensing arrangement between adidas and
     USA Rugby (USA Rugby)....NJ-based shoe retailer Footstar
     reported a fourth-quarter loss of $7.6M, or $.31 a share,
     "due to a one-time restructuring charge, heightened
     competition and soft consumer demand for basketball
     products" (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 2/11).....About 35 Univ. of
     NC-Chapel Hill students marched to the office of Chancellor
     Michael Hooker wanting him "to agree to require" CLC to
     "institute stricter standards" for overseas apparel
     manufacturers (Raleigh NEWS & OBSERVER, 2/11).
