NAMES IN THE NEWS

          FORBES magazine will debut an annual "CELEBRITY 100"
     issue which will rank the 100 richest people in sports,
     entertainment and media.  It will debut the week of March 8
     (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 1/25)...."VARSITY BLUES," the film
     produced by MARQUEE TOLLIN/ROBBINS -- a division of THE
     MARQUEE GROUP -- was No. 1 for the second straight week at
     the box office with a estimated $10.6M take.  It has a ten-
     day cumulative total of about $30.8M (HOLLYWOOD REPORTER,
     1/25)....Pistons F GRANT HILL was interviewed on ABC's "Good
     Morning America" this morning.  After the brief interview,
     ABC's DIANE SAWYER said, "What a kid" (ABC, 1/25)....While
     LA lawyer ROY MAUGHAN said rapper PERCY "MASTER P" MILLER
     has "divested" himself of No Limit Sports, state records
     "indicate otherwise."  No Limit Sports "has been at the
     center of concerns among some LSU officials, who have
     questioned the rapper's relationship with LSU athletes"
     (TIMES-PICAYUNE, 1/21)....Bucks F RAY ALLEN asked JOHNNIE
     COCHRAN to examine contract offers from the team.  Allen
     will negotiate directly with the team but wants Cochran's
     advice (Mult., 1/24).....Chargers Owner ALEX SPANOS donated
     $10,000 to a CA boy "unable to walk since he was injured"
     playing high school football.  The funds will go to helping
     his family buy a van (SAN DIEGO UNION-TRIBUNE, 1/24).
