NOT KEEPING TRACK: KY'S TURFWAY PARK TO BE SOLD FOR $37M

          Northern KY's Turfway Park, which went from a "beaten-
     down horse track to a showcase for thoroughbred racing," is
     being sold by Jerry Carroll for $37M, according to Crowley &
     Prendergast of the CINCINNATI ENQUIRER.  The three buyers 
     are: Keeneland, a Lexington, KY, race track; GTECH Corp., KY
     state lottery operator and provider of on-line lottery
     games; and Harrah's Entertainment, a Memphis-based operator
     of casinos in the U.S. and Australia.  The sale gives
     Carroll, who bought the track in '86 for $13.5M, and Owner
     John Lindahl more time "to concentrate" on building a $150M
     speedway near Sparta, KY.  Though Keeneland will operate the
     track, GTECH and Harrah's will be equal partners (CINCINNATI
     ENQUIRER, 1/16).  The three buyers will each "put up"
     $12.33M for the track (LEXINGTON HERALD-LEADER, 1/16).
