NTRA HAS THE EXECUTIVE SHUFFLE; MERRITT LEAVES TRC

          The NTRA has established NTRA Communications, an in-
     house PR and media services arm staffed by members of the
     absorbed Thoroughbred Racing Communications (TRC).  TRC Exec
     Dir TOM MERRITT has resigned to pursue other opportunities
     and NTRA Senior VP/Marketing RICK BAEDEKER will oversee NTRA
     Communications (NTRA). Also moving to NTRA Communications
     from TRC are PEGGY HENDERSHOT, JENIFER VAN DEINSE and JOAN
     LAWRENCE.  N.Y.-based The Jockey Club named former TRC
     publicist BOB CURRAN as Dir of Special Communications
     Services (BRANDWEEK, 1/11 issue).  Meanwhile, RICH MUHLSTOCK
     was named NTRA Dir of Marketing.  The appointment coincides
     with the NTRA's decision to form NTRA Communications, an in-
     house advertising and marketing arm (NTRA).
