FACILITY NOTES

          In Providence, Charles Bakst writes that the Red Sox
     "may have finally done something smart" by hiring political
     operative John Sasso to aid in their quest to build a new
     ballpark.  Bakst: "Look for him to use the same backstage
     skills in the ballpark drive as he did in the [Providence
     Place] mall campaign" (PROVIDENCE JOURNAL, 1/12)....The
     Tigers and Mort Crim Communications will produce a
     documentary about Tiger Stadium called "Michigan and
     Trumbull" (DETROIT NEWS, 1/11)...Newly-elected IL Gov.
     George Ryan, on available funding for a proposed domed
     stadium for the Bears: "My concern is whether there ought to
     be state dollars involved, and I don't think there should
     be" (CHICAGO SUN-TIMES, 1/10).
