DECK THE HALLS WITH THE DAILY'S MEDIA NOTES

          ESPN "Baseball Tonight" host Gary Miller will replace
     Chris Myers as host of "Up Close."  Miller will take over
     hosting duties on January 11 (Mult., 12/22)....DAILY
     VARIETY's Josef Adalian reports that CBS's overnights for
     Jets-Bills game beat both ABC's and NBC's coverage of the
     Clinton impeachment hearings.  CBS averaged a 9.3/21 for the
     noon-3:30 game while NBC averaged a 4.6/12 and ABC averaged
     a 3.9/10.  Adalian notes that "in fairness, the news
     averages for ABC and NBC cover a longer period of time and
     include ratings for the early morning" (DAILY VARIETY,
     12/22).  In N.Y., Kyle Pope reports that not showing the
     game "would have meant forgoing tens of millions of dollars"
     in ad revenue" for CBS (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 12/22).
