JAGUARS OWNERS TAKE STEPS TO HONOR LOCAL AREA YOUTH

Jaguars Owner Wayne Weaver and his wife Delores "are
putting their hearts and their imagination -- as well as
their money -- into their giving," according to Kerry Dolan
of FORBES. The Weavers are working through the Jacksonville
Jaguars Foundation to "teach children about responsibility
and commitment" by providing free Jaguars tickets to local
kids who participate in the "Honor Rows" program. Created
in '94, area youths from age 9 to 16 receive tickets after
they have achieved certain goals, including promises "not to
do drugs, smoke or consume alcohol," and participating in
"volunteer work" or improving school attendance. The
foundation has donated tickets to over 9,000 youths as well
as granted $1.7M in cash to local agencies that work with
     disadvantaged children (FORBES, 12/28 issue).
